Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The late Ayatollah Khomami is a martyr of the path of justice, and religious values and a martyr of the fight against deviations during the period of Iran’s Constitutional Revolution. The likes of Ayatollah Khomami are not only the pride of Gilan but also the pride of the country.”

ABWA Official Website – On Thursday, March 9, 2023, in the public commemoration of the martyr of Iran’s Constitutional Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Haj Mulla Mohammad Khomami, in the meeting hall of the Martyr Haghshenas Center in Khomam, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Khomami was a jurisprudential, scientific, jihadist and revolutionary figure in the Constitutional Revolution era.”

Stating that Ayatollah Khomami was one of the great border guards of religion and politics, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts added, “We should study the mission of ulama to find out their educational, training, guiding and mediating role.”

“After the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the Infallibles (a.s.), the prominent role of prophethood and Imamate was entrusted to the ulama. Ulama are the rightful heirs of the prophets and mediators between the Prophet and the people,” he clarified.

“Ulama are expert figures who must study, research and ponder to present their understanding,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

“Just as we refer to an expert in any issue, we should also refer to ulama in religious matters,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The Holy Quran is against blind imitation, but it agrees with imitation based on reason. Reason dictates that we should consult religious experts. Therefore, after the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and the Immaculate Imams (a.s.), the role of guidance rests with the ulama,” he said.

“At one time, the relationship between the ulama and the people was only the relationship between the hadith narrators and the people. But later this relationship became stronger and became a relationship between Marja with people. Later, the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) made a change and turned this role into the role of the imam and the Ummah,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

Pointing out that the ulama are the real guardians of the religion and the guidance of the people, the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts stated, “Ulama have considered Islam as a trust and never consider themselves as its custodians, but they consider themselves the servants of the religion.”

While pointing to the lasting legacy of the presence of ulama in society, he emphasized, “The thousand-year seminary of Najaf, the Qom seminary, the great representatives of the Immaculate Imams (a.s.) in the whole world, and the network of Wilayat and the network of representatives that started with Imam Sadeq (a.s.) and were followed by other imams (a.s.), are other examples of this lasting legacy.”

“Throughout the history of Muslims, Enemies tried to fight religion,” Ayatollah Ramazani added, “This action was followed with the two goals of eliminating and limiting religion. During the last one hundred years, the communists sought to eliminate religion and considered it a superstition.”

“The existential philosophy of religion originates from human Fitrah (divine nature of man), and human Fitrah needs the truth of religion,” expressed the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

While explaining the difference between being globalized and globalization, he emphasized, “Being globalized means that the world is changing, and we must present the best thought and ethics in human society. On the other hand, some seek to manage the world and globalization. Global arrogance seeks to manage this globalization. Therefore, people like Fukuyama claim that the future of humanity will be the liberal democracy. Unaware that Islam considers the future to belong to the righteous.”

“Ulama have both scientific and spiritual prestige, and the role of guidance has always been outstanding for them,” pointing out the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“Religion plays a role in the individual and social spheres. Throughout history, some people tried to diminish or shut down the social sphere of religion. While the ulama believed that religion plays a prominent role in both personal and social spheres. It means that religion has a governance program and religious people can establish a government,” he added.

“According to hadiths, at the End of Time, the savior of humanity, that is, Imam Mahdi (a.s.), will establish a government with the characteristics of rationality, spirituality, knowledge, security, etc.,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

“In the past, the conditions for establishing a religious government were not available and some people opposed it. During the period of the Constitutional Revolution, ulama such as Sheikh Fazlollah Nuri, Grand Ayatollah Khomami, etc., believed that Islam has the ability to enter the field of governance and that Islam has the power and efficiency of governance,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“The popular Constitutional Revolution took place to establish Islamic law. Islam has a sovereign law for rule of law and justice. In the meantime, one should not pursue wealth, power, and deceit. Rather, governance should be implemented with all religious values,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Global arrogance wants to take away religious government from the people and implement a secular system. In this same Gilan, Malik al-Mutakallimin once gave a speech and said, “To progress, we must follow the Western version.” While Ayatollah Khomami spoke against this claim and said, “The speech of Malik al-Mutakallimin has no religious basis.” The late Ayatollah Khomami’s opposition to the version of Western governance caused him to be hated by the enemies and martyred by poison on the Day of Ashura,” he added.

“Even today, the enemy’s plan is to remove the Quranic verses related to resistance and Jihad from the Quran,” said the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

Further, in describing the characteristics of the late Grand Ayatollah Khomami, Ayatollah Ramazani said, “He was an ascetic, pious, brave and mujahid jurist, and a congress should be held to commemorate him.”

“Ulama and dignitaries like Habib Allah Rashti, Ayatollah Bahjat, Ayatollah Khomami, etc., should be introduced to our young generation. Our youth should know that even though parts of Iran’s land were given to foreigners during the history of Iran’s Shahs and monarchs, it is never seen throughout history that a cleric, alem, mujtahid, or Marja signs a colonial document, or give a piece of our land to foreigners,” Ayatollah Ramazani clarified.

“The late Ayatollah Khomami is a martyr of the path of justice, and religious values and a martyr of the fight against deviations during the period of Iran’s Constitutional Revolution. The likes of Ayatollah Khomami are not only the pride of Gilan but also the pride of the country,” stated the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“The grand ulama of Iran were martyred to defend the Sharia and Fiqh of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and did not allow the politics of Islam to be separated from the Sharia of Islam. We had great martyrs like Qazi Sheikh Nurullah Shustari, whose grave and shrine is a place of pilgrimage for people in India today,” he noted.

“The late Grand Ayatollah Mohammad Khomami was one of the figures who fought against Babism and Bahaism,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“The plan of global arrogance is to separate the people from the real clerics and ulama. Global arrogance wants to promote a version of Islam without clerics, Sharia, governance, and the social sphere in society,” he emphasized.

“Because our youth are not familiar with these struggles, they are sometimes deceived. But when they get to know these figures closely, they realize that the ulama are the devotees of Islam and the trustees of God’s religion and divine Sharia,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.

“Today, some people are trying to promote vulgarity and cynicism in society. We strictly adhere to Sharia and do not allow prayer, fasting, Hajj, Jihad, enjoining good, forbidding evil, hijab, and chastity to be closed,” he said.

“To support Islam‌ and its Sharia, ulama are willing to sacrifice their lives and are present in the field,” emphasized the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In the recent events of the country, some people clearly said that they want the freedom of women! If freedom means that the domination system does not control them, then the government and the Islamic Republic have already given this freedom. Also, in the Islamic Republic, the presence of women in educational, research, social and executive fields has been prominent,” he said.

“The government that has defended women’s rights the most has been the Islamic Republic of Iran. But the enemies are looking for absolute freedom in terms of moral, sexual, etc. deviations,” Ayatollah Ramazani noted.

“The enemy has distorted slogans such as women, life, and freedom. It has been the Islamic Republic of Iran that has brought women to their true position,” clarified the representative of the people of Gilan in the assembly of leadership experts.

“It is not claimed that there is no problem in terms of economy and livelihood. The authorities of the Islamic Republic must make arrangements so that the people, as the pillars of the revolution, do not suffer pressure. The republic aspect of the government should be strengthened because this is how the country’s security will increase,” he noted.

“The late Imam Khomeini (a.s.) taught us life lessons in the real sense of the word; a life in which the wise, faithful, and chaste status of man should be respected,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“A moral person is someone who cares about heaven and hell. A Muslim and Godly person is someone who believes in God’s commandments and considers his salvation to perform the instructions of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h),” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Muslim man seeks to live a pure life, help others, and fulfill justice. Dignitaries like Sheikh Fazlullah Nouri, the late Behbahani, the late Martyr Ali Fumani, and the late Khomami were such people,” he said.

“During the past 44 years (after the victory of the Islamic Revolution), the enemies wished to destroy the Islamic Republic. But despite all the problems, people created an epic on the 22nd of Bahman (the demonstrations and gatherings on the anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution) and proved that they consider the Islamic Revolution a divine trust, for which pure lives were sacrificed,” Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized.

“We must be trustworthy for the pure souls sacrificed and the Shariah and Fiqh of Islam. The trust that the likes of the late Khomami and Sheikh Fazlullah Nouri entrusted to us, as well as the great Revolution that happened with the blessing of the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), and today with the blessing of the thoughtful leadership of Imam Khamenei, has been able to show the dignity of the ulama in a comprehensive way,” clarified the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“All the authorities of the country should try to introduce the figures and role models who live in this region to our young generation by holding congresses and conferences,” he said in the end. /345/
