A report on the Int’l conference “Al-Quds, the first Qibla” for women

The President of the Women and Family Think Tank of Imam Hussain (a.s.) University, stated, “The collapse of the Zionist regime will bring us one step closer to the new Islamic civilization. By talking about a world where one of the manifestations of oppression and corruption has disappeared, we are one step closer to the objectives of the Islamic Revolution. This was the wish of the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution has explained this path well.”

ABWA Official Website – On Monday, April 17, 2023, in the session for women at the international conference “Al-Quds, the First Qibla”, organized with the cooperation of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in the cultural complex of Hazrat Wali-e Asr (a.s.), Zohre Elahian, referring to the position of Palestinian women in the fight against the Zionist regime, stated, “Many women and children have been attacked and detained in Palestine. Have those who claim to defend human rights ever said anything about Palestinian women who are oppressed? Have they, at least once, taken a stand against these crimes and defended Palestinian women and children?”

“In a situation where global developments have accelerated, we are witnessing a transition from a unipolar world to a multipolar world,” she added, “At this time emerging powers such as India, Brazil, and, above all, the Islamic Republic of Iran, which are decisive, are visible. The Islamic Revolution determines the equations in the region.”

“An agreement was reached (between Iran and) Saudi Arabia; after many years that the Arab League condemned the Zionist regime for the first time in a meeting in Saudi Arabia. This is a very important event, and it is in the context that last year the “Abraham Accords” had the agenda of normalizing relations between Islamic countries and the Zionist regime, and it was a great shame for the Islamic world,” Elahian continued.

“The situation is such that even the allies of the United States are fed up with its bullying. Many countries are looking to remove the dollar from their trade exchanges. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution said that the Zionist regime is America’s watchdog in the region. This regime is declining. The leaders of the Zionist regime believe that the regime will not see its 80th anniversary, and the demonstrations in which several hundreds of thousands of protesters are present on the streets of Tel Aviv confirm this. Governments in the occupied territories now last less than a year, and there are deep divisions between parties and groups,” she added.

The representative of the people of Tehran in the parliament added, “These conditions, disturbances, and class and ethnic differences, as well as economic conditions, have caused the settlers to seek citizenship from other countries and reverse migration. The regime cannot even confront the operations from the West Bank, let alone confront Syria, Hezbollah, and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Today we are witnessing strikes in the army of the Zionist regime, the same army that was once powerful and was an absolute winner in the six-day war against the Arabs. By exaggerating the external threat, the Zionist regime tries to show itself as a hero and threatens the Islamic Republic, Hezbollah, and Syria with a military attack. These measures are to make up for the internal fragility, but like a vicious circle, worsen the situation of the Zionist regime in the region.”

The Identity of Bahraini Women and Men on International Quds Day

Further in the session, Elham Shakeri, an activist on Bahrain issues, said, “The February 14 Revolution of Bahrain has been going on for 12 years. This revolution has so far had 200 martyrs and 18 thousand detainees. I used to live in Bahrain for several years, and during these years I have seen all the human rights violations in the country. Quds Day in Bahrain has become a part of Bahraini identity.”

“Both Shia and Sunni, and almost all the followers of different religions, if they disagree on anything, they agree on the issue of Palestine and the cause of Al-Quds, and this is a warning sign for Al-Khalifa. From the very beginning of the usurpation and theft of Palestinian lands, the people of Bahrain were on the scene. The normalization of relations with the Zionist regime is progressing in Bahrain, and this has made the country’s people more vigilant to Quds. The people of Bahrain have become more sensitive to the cause of Palestine day by day. Shiite ulama in Bahrain have always been at the forefront of the Quds movement and support for Palestine,” she added.

“The people of Bahrain’s anger about signing the normalization agreement with the Zionist regime was not seen even in the February 14 revolution. The gap between the people and the rulers of Bahrain has increased. Al-Khalifa thought it could advance the Zionization of the region. By drying up the beaches, the Al-Khalifa regime transfers the land to the Al-Khalifa family. This means both land theft and a crime against nature,” Shakeri continued.

“Two Bahraini islands have been sold to Israeli companies! There is a concern that these islands will become a place for Zionists to live. Right after the agreement was signed, a group of Zionist tourists entered Bahrain and went to the old market of Manama. This infuriated media and online activists in Bahrain and caused the Zionist tourists to leave their trip incomplete and return,” she added.

“Bahrain has become a market for Zionists,” this Bahraini activist continued, “So far, several student groups from Israel have visited Bahrain, and student groups from Bahrain have also visited the occupied territories. The embassy of the Zionist regime in Bahrain has been active for several years. Recently, as the Persian Gulf friendship team, two Bahraini girls were sent to the occupied territories, and by sharing some pictures and videos on their social media pages, they tried to show that everything was well. But these measures had exactly the opposite result, and the people of Bahrain became more vigilant towards Palestine and the cause of Al-Quds.”

“This year, Quds Day was unprecedented in Bahrain, and more than 20 demonstrations were held all over the country to commemorate this Day. Despite the ongoing political strife in Bahrain, political and revolutionary developments, and the government’s oppression of people, prisoners, and people deprived of citizenship, Bahraini women have a strong presence in the demonstrations. Not everyone dares to participate in demonstrations in Bahrain, and even men with fear of arrest come to the scene,” she added.

Afghan women are with Palestinian women

In the continuation of the session, Batool Mohaqeq, a researcher on women and children affairs in Afghanistan, stated, “Young people may not accept that the United States and Israel are our enemies. Because they still did not believe this. When the enemies get their foot in the ground of a country, they will continue their hostility regardless of who supported them before. We experienced this problem in Afghanistan, and we explain these problems to our girls in detail.”

“US soldier admits to baiting Afghan children with chocolate to clear landmines in their path. As a woman and mother in society, my duty is to teach my child that he should know that the Jews can pose the biggest threat to the Muslim community. At present, because of ignorance, they think that they have no enmity with us,” she added.

“The slogan “From the Nile to the Euphrates” was raised by Israel. But they claim, “From the Nile to the Stars”! If we don’t confront them with our resistance, they will dominate everywhere. For the Zionist regime, no geographical boundaries have been defined. When a Zionist soldier is asked, “Where is your geographical border?”, he simply replies, “My border is as far as I can move!”. If they come to power, they will show no mercy to anyone,” Mohaqeq continued.

“In such a situation, the most stupid thing is for someone to say that s/he will not participate in the demonstrations. This is a wrong thought because we have not learned that we are only Muslims and Shiites, but we are not pragmatists. In the circle of Islam, the criterion of being a Muslim is not race, color, or language. This session is held for women. Afghan women always stand by the country’s men. Many Afghan girls are banned from education. Also, women who were university professors have been banned from working,” she added.

“Afghanistan is a symbol of oppressed Shia and women in the world; Just as Palestine is a symbol of oppressed Muslims in the world. Afghan mothers who search for body parts of their children, who are victims of suicide attacks, are more sympathetic to Palestinian women who are fighting for the liberation of Palestine,” Mohaqeq added.

Women should narrate the post-Zionist era

Then in this session which was held for women on the sidelines of the “Quds, First Qibla” international conference, Minoo Aslani, the President of the Women and Family Think Tank of Imam Hussain (a.s.) University stated, “Our women should narrate in the post-Zionism era, and the era after the collapse of this fake regime, and say what events caused it, and how it separated right from wrong. Palestinian women must explain to future generations what events they caused to happen. The Islamic Revolution is derived from the Ashura Revolution, and the Ashura Revolution distinguished right from wrong.”

“To block the path of Ashura and the Islamic revolutions, a festering tuber was formed, that is the fake Zionist regime. Today, all those who stood by this regime are condemned and must be held accountable. The awakened consciences of the world must hold them accountable for what they did to Palestinian women and children. In post-Zionism, we must try them in court. Islamic countries must play their role properly in order to avoid being hated in the historical memory of nations,” she added.

“The collapse of the Zionist regime will bring us one step closer to the new Islamic civilization,” Aslani said, “By talking about a world where one of the manifestations of oppression and corruption has disappeared, we are one step closer to the objectives of the Islamic Revolution. This was the wish of the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.), and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution has explained this path well.”

“If today, in the various dimensions of the Islamic revolution and world events, our narration is not formed by women, others will confiscate it for themselves. Many women in different countries are silent and not active, and we, the Muslim women of Iran, must fill this gap. We have been chosen for this. Our Islamic Revolution is global and paves the way for the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi (a.s.),” she added.

“Islamic Iran plays an effective role in strategic macro-decision making in the world and has a special position. The world is fed up with materialistic, liberal, and communist discourses. They have not brought man to his status and have marked his humiliation. Therefore, at every moment, we must take care of our path, know it correctly, and introduce it to others, so that all the people of the world can feel the sweetness of Palestine’s victory,” added the university professor.

The main source of resistance is the Palestinian woman

Further in the session, Iran Roknabadi, the Director General of Women’s Affairs of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The Palestinian woman carries a kind of work and burden, the variety of which has introduced her as a role model in the world. A Palestinian woman is religious. They consider hijab as a form of resistance. They have organized many activities for religious issues.”

“The main burden of family affairs is on Palestinian women. Two-thirds of the Palestinian people are displaced around the world. Palestinian women, although they were a minority in terms of numbers, carried the burden of the population. So that now the population of Palestinians is more than Zionists. Raising martyrs, as wives and mothers of martyrs, is important for Palestinian women, and is actually considered a model for women in the world,” she said.

“The main source of resistance is the Palestinian woman who bravely and selflessly takes steps in the field. Today, we should not be satisfied with just holding a conference, but we should seek the victory of the Holy Quds and the Palestinian nation. The nature of all human beings is opposing oppression. All the claimants of human rights are indifferent to the situation of the Palestinian people. The name of today’s conference is “Solidarity with Palestinian Women”, which was held to imitate and model them. The world must be responsible and accountable for the violation of human rights. It is not fair to leave Palestinian women alone. In many countries, women and children are dying due to malnutrition,” Roknabadi continued.

Quds Day is a symbol of unity in Nigeria

Further in the session, Ms. Asma Mokhtar from Nigeria said, “World Quds Day in Nigeria is a manifestation of the unity of Shiite and Sunni. Not only on Quds Day but also in our actions, speech, and media, we must show our solidarity with the Palestinian people. Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky always emphasizes the importance of Quds Day and says that Palestinian resistance is a popular resistance. The situation in Palestine is not only about Palestinians but about all humanity.”

“Palestine and Al-Aqsa Mosque are important to us, and we cannot be indifferent to them. In the past years, many demonstrations have been held in Nigeria, and during the country’s military attack on the participants, some young people have been martyred or injured, including three of Sheikh Zakzaky’s sons who were martyred during them. With all the support we will have for Palestinian women, the Zionists will be destroyed, and we will continue this way with perseverance,” she added.

Yemenis understand the situation of Palestinians

The next speaker in this session was Ms. Elham Al-Mohaqeri, from Yemen, who said in his speech, “Yemeni mothers and women, who have been living under the sanctions and difficult living conditions for seven years, understand the situation of Palestinian men and women very well. Yemeni women are not only housewives but also have social presence and media activities. They have economic and social participation along with men, and they are also successful in raising children.”

“Yemenis understand the situation of the Palestinian people more than others. Because they have similar conditions. With the agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia, a ceasefire has been established in Yemen and the prisoners of both sides are being released. We express our gratitude and appreciation to the Islamic Republic of Iran for always standing by the Yemeni people,” she said in the end.
