The chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly denounced the insult of the spokesman of Bharatiya Janata Party of India to the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h).
In a statement, Ayatollah Mohammad Hassan Akhtari, chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, denounced the insult to the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) by the official spokesman of the ruling party of India, Bharatiya Janata.
In the statement, referring to systematic anti-Islamic actions in India, he said, “We hereby denounce the atrocities, malicious and insolent statements made by the official spokesperson of the extremist Bharatiya Janata Party. These moves are aimed at intensifying hatred and insulting Islam through systematic actions against Muslims and to put pressure on them. We call on governments, countries, organizations and international institutions to continue to condemn these blatant statements.”
The English version of the statement, which originally has been issued in Arabic, is as follows:
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
“Then they plotted [against Jesus], and Allah also devised, and Allah is the best of devisers.” (Holy Quran, Surah: Al-e Imran, Verse: 54)
Unfortunately, the world once again witnessed a hostile move in which the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), the supreme figure of the creatures, whom God sent as a mercy to the world, was targeted. A member of the extremist Bharatiya Janata Party, India’s ruling party, insulted the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and Islamic sanctities. These moves are another kind of organized plan to fight against Islam, and to increase pressure on Muslims in all dimensions.
In recent years, we have witnessed heinous acts and brutal attacks, including the banning on hijab in educational institutions in some states of India, as well as the demolition of Muslim homes in other parts of the country, which has accommodated followers of all religions.
In addition, the increase in violence against Muslims proves the existence of hidden hands to incite religious and sectarian sedition, and the outbreak of civil war in this democratic country which embraces all religions and is known for peaceful coexistence.
Hereby we denounce the atrocities, malicious and insolent statements made by the official spokesperson of the extremist Bharatiya Janata Party. These moves are aimed at intensifying hatred and insulting Islam through systematic actions against Muslims and to put pressure on them. We call on governments, countries, organizations, and international institutions to continue to condemn these blatant statements.
We call on governments, countries, organizations, and international institutions, that in addition to continuing to condemn these statements, to take a piratical rigorous stance, so that these stupid people never dare to insult Islamic symbols and sanctities again.
We also call on the Indian authorities to ensure the health and security of the Indian Muslim community, to preserve the religious and cultural rights and identity, the places of worship of the Muslims of the country. Also, we demand Indian authorities to strictly stand against the insults to and all kinds of desecration of the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), and to bring to justice the instigators, perpetrators of violent acts and hate-related crimes against Muslims and hold the parties behind these actions accountable.
We call on the international community, including the United Nations and the Human Rights Council, to take the necessary measures to counter the crackdown on Muslims in India.
Also, we call on respected scholars to play their part by shedding light on inhumane acts against Muslims in all parts of the world, including India, as well as exposing all conspiracies, with the aim of violating the religious freedom of Muslims, marginalizing them, and creating violence and hatred against them under various pretexts. We call on the ulama to focus all their efforts on providing the necessary spiritual, material and media support to the Muslims of India, and to stand against all conspiracies against Muslims by having a comprehensive and continuous impact on international public opinion.
Indeed, success belongs only to God
Mohammad Hassan Akhtari
Chairman of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly
