Ramadan; opportunity to be adorned with moral virtues: Ayatollah Ramazani

Pointing out that the month of Ramadan is the month of evacuation and getting out of moral vices such as lying, slandering, and bad language, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The month of the God’s feast (Ramadan) trains the man to be adorned with moral virtues.”

In the 13th episode of the special internet program “Facing the Sky”, which is broadcast on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani Gilani stated, “The month of Ramadan is the month of evacuation and getting out of moral vices.”


“The month of Ramadan trains the man to be adorned with moral virtues,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly of the, pointing out that vices, including lying, slandering, bad language, etc., turn people away from God.


“In this supplication, we ask God to cleanse us from the filth of sins,” he stated, referring to the prayer on the 13th day of the holy month of Ramadan.


“Sin is like the filth that enters the truth of the body,” Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out, saying that in the supplications of the holy month, sin is interpreted as filth.


“Sin is defiance, destructive actions, and moving against Fitrah (inner nature) and divine commands,” stated the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, emphasizing that man must understand and comprehend that sin is dirty.


“Strengthening patience is one of the things that should be considered during Ramadan,” he added, pointing out that Ramadan can empower man against temptations.


“Patience for faith is like the head for the body,” Ayatollah Ramazani added, saying that man will not progress if he does not have patience.


“Just as without the head, the body does not show any reaction, without patience, the truth of faith cannot be reached,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.


“The Holy Quran also commands us to be patient because God is with the patient,” he stated, pointing out that man must resist hardships and temptations.


“In other verses of the Holy Quran, it is stated that the patient man has chosen a kind of friendship with God and achieves peace and security,” Ayatollah Ramazani added.


“To the events and difficulties that God has ordained for the man, he must have authority and will and not be ungrateful,” the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, pointing out that a person who is patient about his destiny will reach salvation.


“Interpreting events and understanding the philosophy of destiny requires spiritual power,” he said, “Man must know for sure that God is wise and that everything proceeds according to divine wisdom,”


“Human growth causes the growth of the whole society,” Ayatollah Ramazani concluded, pointing out that divine duties, including prayer and fasting, are due to divine wisdom, and practicing them makes man grow.
