In a message, AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly offered its condolences on demise of the previous chairman of the Ithna-Ashar Shiite Ulema Assembly of Burundi, Sheikh Kikomo.

In a message, AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly offered its condolences on demise of the previous chairman of the Ithna-Ashar Shiite Ulema Assembly of Burundi (a Twelver Shiite Institute), Hujat al-Islam Sheikh Kikomo.


The message of condolences is as follows:


In the Name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful


“Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him do we indeed return” (Holy Quran 2:156)


The demise of Hujat al-Islam Sheikh Ibrahim Kikomo, one of the scholars of the of Burundi, caused grief and sorrow.


The deceased was one of the founders of the “Ithna-Ashar Shiite Ulema Institute” and one of the pioneers in publishing the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), who spent his blessed life preaching and teaching in different parts of the country and was a preacher of the Islam and the teachings of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).


The AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly express its condolences to his honorable family and all his friends, and acquaintances, and prays to God for his exaltation in heaven and patience for his family.

The late Sheikh Ibrahim Kikomo was born in 1964 in the city of Rumge in Burundi in East Africa.


He completed his primary and high school in his hometown, and after receiving high school diploma at the “Madresa al-Thiqafa al-Islamia” (Islamic Cultural School), he began to study religious knowledge. After completing this course, he emigrated to Sudan and studied at higher levels.


After returning home from Sudan, due to his studies, he became interested in the school of AhlulBayt (a.s.), and became Shiite. This incident 1990 changed his destiny.


Engaged in propagating the teachings of the Quran and AhlulBayt in his country, he and his friends founded the “Ithna Ashar (Twelver) Shiite institute” in 1990 and chaired as the deputy chairman of the institute.


In 2004, the late Hujat al-Islam Ibrahim Kikomo was elected as the chairman of the “Ithna-Ashar (Twelver) Shiite Ulema Assembly of Burundi” and also the “AhlulBayt (a.s.) Institute” of the country.


He continued his efforts for many years until, in 2019, he was unfortunately infected with hepatitis C.
