While expressing deep sympathy with the people of the brotherly country of Libya, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly expresses its condolences for this great tragedy and expresses its sympathy and empathy with the thinkers, intellectuals, and the general public of the country.
Following the flood in eastern Libya and the death of a large number of citizens of the country, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly issued a statement.
The statement is as follows:
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُمْ مُصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
In the Name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful
“Who say, when a misfortune striketh them: Lo! we are Allah's and lo! unto Him we are returning.” (Holy Quran 2:156)
With great sadness, we learned about the floods and storms in the Derna region of eastern Libya, which have led to a human disaster and many financial losses, in which thousands of people have died, gone missing, or been displaced.
While expressing deep sympathy with the people of the brotherly country of Libya, the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly expresses its condolences for this great tragedy and expresses its sympathy and empathy with the thinkers, intellectuals, and the general public of the country. The Assembly asks Almighty God to bestow His mercy on the victims of this tragedy, place them in His heaven, and keep the injured and missing in his shelter.
“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him do we indeed return.”
