The Secretary of the Academic Committee of the Abu Talib Conference announced submission of 270 articles from Iran, Iraq, Syria and Egypt to the Secretariat of the Abu Talib (a.s.) International Conference.
The Secretary of the Academic Committee of the International Conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the protector of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h)”, Hojat al-Islam Abbas Jafari Farahani said, “After calling for the submission of articles in different languages, 270 abstracts and the original article from Iran and Iraq, Syria and Egypt, etc. have been sent to the Secretariat of the Conference and expert committees are reviewing and evaluating them.”
In the third pre-session of the International Conference “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.), the Protector of the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h)” which was organized by the Secretariat of the Conference and the Islamic History Department of Research Institute of Hawzeh and University in the conference hall of the Secretariat of Academic Associations of the seminary, Hojat al-Islam Abbas Jafari Farahani referring to the objectives of the conference said, “Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) as the honorable uncle of the Prophet Muhmmad (p.b.u.h), has a unique and oppressed personality in the history of Islam.”
“Regarding the objectives of holding the conference, it can be said that from the point of view of the followers of AhlulBayt (a.s.) and Shiites, contrary to what the Nawasibs slander, Hazrat Abu Talib (a.s.) was a person who fully protects the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) and was a Muslim and believer. Unfortunately, the character of Abu Talib (a.s.) is unknown even to some seminary elites, let alone the general public. Therefore, an effort has been made to introduce and revive his personality for different segments of the people inside and outside Iran by holding a conference glorious and corresponding with his personality”, the head of the conference secretariat continued.
“Some people, including Nawasibs, raise questions and doubts about the character of Abu Talib (a.s.) that need to be answered. Therefore, it can be said that the second goal for holding the conference is to answer such questions and doubts”, Farahani added.
He considered the introduction of sources about the Hazrat Abou Talib (a.s.) as one of the other objectives of the conference and stated, “There are many sources and works by Sunni and Shiite scholars on introducing the personality of Abu Talib (a.s.), which unfortunately remain unknown. This conference tries to introduce these academic resources and heritage to the elite community as well as people.”
Stating that the young generation of the Islamic society is not familiar with the character of Abu Talib (a.s.), he said, “By compiling articles and writings on the character of Abu Talib (a.s.), the conference tries to introduce the dimensions of his personality, his services to Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h), and Islam and Muslims, to the young generation in all countries.”

In the end Farahani said, “Although the deadline for submitting abstracts has expired, but due to the fact that interested people has welcomed the conference, the conference secretariat is still ready to receive abstracts.”
The deadline for submitting original articles is the end of October 2019.
