A Mexican Muslim lady said that Arbaeen is the embodiment of the most beautiful images of humanity.
Elizabeth Marquez, a Mexican Muslim lady, and the director of the Islamic Center for Women of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in Mexico City, the first Shiite center for women in Mexico, traveled to Karbala to attend the great Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremony.
Regarding the Arbaeen pilgrimage ceremony, she stated, “I saw the embodiment of the most beautiful images of humanity in the great Arbaeen pilgrimage, with the presence of millions of pilgrims. During this ceremony, many followers of different religions come to Karbala to express their love for Imam Hussain (a.s.), and this is very interesting to me.”
“Imam Hussain (a.s.) was the first person to establish concepts such as the call to follow the path of truth with all the problems faced by man, the fight against oppression and tyranny, and the fight for freedom. He was a great and unifying revolutionary for all humanity and a symbol of dignity and mercy and confronting oppression and tyranny,” Marquez continued.
“I converted to Islam 15 years ago. I researched Islam through the internet and read many Islamic books. My familiarity with Islamic ethics and different aspects of life was through studying these sources. After that I realized that Islamic views on humanity, dignity and free life are closer to my views,” added the director of the Islamic Center for Women of AhlulBayt (a.s.) in Mexico City.
The Ahl al-Bayt World Assembly is an international non-governmental organization (INGO) that was established by a group of Shiite elites under the supervision of the great Islamic authority of the Shiites in 1990 to identify, organize, educate and support the followers of Ahl al-Bayt.
