Self-cultivation, spirituality, making organization should be institutionalized in society: Ayatollah Ramazani

The Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “The literature of self-cultivation, spirituality, and making organization should be institutionalized in the society. By taking an instrumental view of hiring people, and replacing rules with nepotism, unfortunate events will occur.”

ABWA Official Website – The 6th session of ethics lessons, entitled “Official Ethics”, was held on Thursday, June 8, 2023, with the speech of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, in the conference hall of the Assembly, with the presence of managers and staff of this international organization.

Ayatollah Ramazani stated, “One of the important points of ethical discussions is the “relationship between the making human and the making of the society”, which is not observed in non-religious systems.”

“The late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) addressed the “relationship between the making human and the making of the society” in various situations and speeches. The literature of self-cultivation, spirituality, and making organizations should be institutionalized in society. By taking an instrumental view of hiring people, and replacing rules with nepotism, unfortunate events will occur,” he added.

“On the relationship between the making human and the making society, the late Imam Khomeini (r.a.) said, “You reform yourself; your country will be reformed.” But this literature is not mentioned in the words of the leaders of other countries. Rather, they highlight the law. While man-made laws prevent chaos, divine laws are calming and persuasive,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In the Islamic system, monotheism is at the top of affairs, while God and spirituality have no place in non-monotheistic systems and civilizations,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

“If the human mind gets involved in trivial and unimportant matters, it will stop from its purpose and goals. On the other hand, there are so many trivial matters that the human mind is not capable of handling them all. Therefore, in official work, we must address the important matters to complete them,” continued the professor of higher levels of the Qom seminary.

“Thanks to the leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, the Islamic Revolution of Iran did not give up on its principles. The Islamic Republic made progress in the scientific and military fields, and today this very power and authority have created deterrence. However, we have not made the necessary progress in justice,” Ayatollah Ramazani stated.

In another part of his speech, emphasizing life in a social environment as a part of official ethics, he said, “Living in a communal environment and being together in an office environment is necessary and very important.”

“The main cause of despair in the office environment is the lack of self-cultivation. Some people do not see good activities, are controversial, and constantly create despair. We should see good activities too. If we see a defect somewhere, we must notify the relevant official privately,” added the Secretary General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Optimism and giving the benefit of the doubt are parts of administrative ethics, and according to a hadith of Imam Ali (a.s.), if a person is busy with his own faults, he will forget the faults of others. Or in another hadith, Imam Reza (a.s.) said, “One should say that “everyone is better and more pious than me”,” added the professor of higher levels of the seminary.

In the end, regarding the ways of Satan’s influence on the human soul, he said, “We should not think ourselves higher than others, this is one of Satan's tricks.”
