The inhumane sanctions on Yemen must be lifted: Amir-Abdollahian

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran stated, “In our talks with Saudi Arabia, expressing our concern about the situation in Yemen, we announced that considering the ceasefire, the inhumane sanctions on Yemen should be lifted.”

World Assembly with Hossein Amir-Abdollahian the Minister of Foreign Affairs, was held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Diplomatic Club, in the presence of Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the Assembly.

At the beginning of the meeting, while appreciating the cooperation of the diplomatic system of the country in strengthening the activities of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) In this meeting, which was also attended by some of ambassadors of the Islamic Republic in Islamic countries, while welcoming Shiite ulama and scholars participating in the meeting of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister stated, “Many countries are looking for natural resources, mines and looting the capital of the oppressed people of the African continent. This is while the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran has always advised the Foreign Ministry and the government not to forget Africa and to transfer technology and science to this continent. Therefore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs established the first technology center of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Nairobi, Kenya, and this will be continued in other African countries.”

“The Supreme Leader has always paid special attention to the Islamic world and the region and sought the staff training and giving roles to the youth. Regarding the discourse of seeking peace and justice, he has expressed theoretical and practical to use the great capacity of the Islamic world,” added Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.

“The division in the Islamic world is rooted in the plans of parties that do not tolerate the success of Muslims. Today, inside the occupied territories, the Zionists are struggling with multi-layered political, security and social crises, and the claims, sometimes in the form of attacking some points in Syria or the claims they make against the Islamic Republic of Iran and its peaceful nuclear program, are like a puppet show,” he clarified.

“They wanted to conquer from the Nile to the Euphrates, but now they are surrounded! Today, in every conflict that the Zionists enter, they send messages through several channels either to the friends of the Lebanese Resistance or to the friends of the Islamic Republic of Iran that: Enough! Tell the Resistance to stop retaliating!” The Minister of Foreign Affairs said.

“American intelligence agencies and some countries are planning and trying to disintegrate Islamic countries,” Amir-Abdollahian warned.

Honoring the memory of General Haj Qassem Soleimani, he said, “He struggled a lot alongside the great nations of Syria, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine, Afghanistan and many other countries. The general stated in his memoirs, “We obtained maps and documents of secret meetings in the form of audio and video tapes, that indicated the enemy’s plot was beyond the division between Shiites and Sunnis”. Their main goal is to disintegrate the Islamic world.”

Referring to the motto of the 7th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Asembly, namely: “Rationality, Justice and Dignity”, he suggested Shiite thinkers and ulama to create consensus and organized intellectual, scientific and field movements in various fields, utilize the capabilities of Muslims youth and make double and planed efforts.”

“20 million oppressed Yemeni women, children and men suffer from hunger and malnutrition,” he said, “We have had five rounds of security talks with Saudis, and recently there has been an idea to follow these talks at the political level and the foreign ministry of the two countries. We have seen good progress in these talks.”

“In our talks with Saudi Arabia, expressing our concern about the situation in Yemen, we announced that considering the ceasefire, the inhumane sanctions on Yemen should be lifted. Food and medicines enter Yemen little by little, and this is far from humane and Islamic ethics. If sanctions on Yemen is not lifted, the ceasefire in this country will not last. The political dialogues of all Yemeni parties play an important role in this regard,” added the Foreign Minister of Affairs of Iran.

“The approach, discourse and performance of the Foreign Policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is based on dignity, independence and peace. The path of political independence and national honor must continue,” Dr. Amir-Abdollahian emphasized.

In the end, pointing out the opportunities and challenges of the Islamic world, the Foreign Minister explained the views of the Islamic Republic of Iran on the situation of Yemen, Syria, Bahrain, Libya, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Ukraine, as well as the latest status of negotiations to lift the sanctions.

It worth mentioning that in this meeting, four of the scholars and activists participating in the 7th General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly from Turkey, Lebanon, England and Afghanistan expressed their views.
