Draft of multilateral cooperation memorandum of AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly reviewed

A meeting was held to review the draft memorandum of multilateral cooperation between the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University, the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, and the Islamic Republic of Iran High Council for Human Rights.

The meeting, which was held in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, was attended by Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, Hojat al-Islam Dr. Hamid Shahriari, head of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, Hojat al-Islam Mehdi Imanipour, Head of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, Dr. Gharibabadi, Deputy for International Affairs and Human Rights of the Judiciary, and Hojat al-Islam Abbasi, President of the Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University.

Speaking at the meeting, referring to human rights as very important concepts, Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly added, “There are many different interpretations of human rights today, and we pursue it based on religious and Islamic values. But the emphasis on human rights in the postmodern colonial era is to achieve goals aimed at suppressing independent approaches.”

“We need a network of international jurists to pursue the legal protection and enforcement of the rights of Muslims and influential figures,” he said.

“In the case of human rights, we need scientific activities based on religious values, and we need to redefine and conceptualize in this area,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Then in the meeting, Dr. Gharibabadi, Deputy for the International Affairs and Human Rights of the Judiciary, said, “Little has been done in relation to Islamic human rights in the international arena and even inside Iran.”

“The five-party cooperation memorandum can pave the way for the defense of Islamic human rights, the rights of the oppressed and the Shiites, the Resistance Axis and confrontation with Islamophobia and anti-Islamism,” he added.

“In the international arena, we do not have much to offer on Islamic human rights. These materials should be selected purposefully, and capable and skilled people who are familiar with international literature should be hired to explain them,” Gharibabadi added, considering the field of research, explanation and training as the objectives of the memorandum.

Then in this meeting, considering the multilateral memorandum a good event, Dr. Abbasi, President of the Al-Mustafa (p.b.u.h) International University, said, “This memorandum can be developed by synergizing different capacities. This requires an active executive committee to harness the potential in the international arena.”

Hojat al-Islam Mehdi Imanipour, Head of Islamic Culture and Communication Organization, also announced the readiness of his respective organization to advance the goals of the memorandum.

“Western countries often use the concept of human rights to condemn underdeveloped countries, to advance their political goals,” Dr. Shahriari said, following the meeting.

“It is necessary to form networks that can defend the rights of Muslims and followers of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) whose rights are being violated. Defending the oppressed against those in power in the world is a priority. Hundreds of Shiites are being held in Saudi prisons. At least 30 Shiites have been executed in Saudi Arabia over the past year, and there is no one to defend them,” he emphasized.
