During his visit to Pakistan, the Melbourne Friday prayer Imam met with a member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
During his visit to Pakistan, Hojat al-Islam Haj Sheikh Ashfaq Vahidi, representative of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and Friday Imam of Melbourne, met with Ayatollah Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi, member of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and Allameh Aref Vahedi, Secretary-General of the Pakistan Shia Ulama Council, in Islamabad.
In this meeting, Hojat al-Islam Vahidi emphasized, “Following the guidelines of the Shiite figures, we are determined to strengthen the position of the Shiites and to defend the principles and beliefs of this right religion.
Emphasizing the need to take a strong approach against takfiri thought and counter extremism, he added, “In order to achieve their rights, the Shiite nation must be united and on a common front.”
Hojat al-Islam Vahidi also stressed the importance of joint determination to strengthen the position of unity, and attention to the principle of brotherhood and unity of Muslims on the path to the exaltation of the Islamic world.
Allama Wahidi, secretary-general of the Pakistan Shia Ulama Council, also praised the efforts and services of Hojat al-Islam Ashfaq Vahidi in Australia and stressed his role in activating the Shiite community in the country.
