Ground prepared for great Islamic civilization: Ramazani/Iran-Iraq bilateral cooperation developing: Adel Abdul Mahdi

Ayatollah Reza Ramazani, Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met Adel Abdul Mahdi, former Iraqi Prime Minister, and a member of the General-Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Ground prepared for great Islamic civilization

In this meeting, referring to Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi’s views on Iran, the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “One of our main plans (on this trip to Iraq) was to meet you. I know your scientific character, your presence in France, and your cultural activities. You have a very positive view of Iran, and during your tenure as Iraq’s prime minister, you provided invaluable services in building interaction between Iran and Iraq. Also, valuable actions have been taken in your course.”

“Today, we must take an up-to-date look at religious, value, and moral activities and pay serious attention to cyberspace. Also, in our views to our audience, we need to seriously reconsider. The youth should be our serious audience, and we should pay special attention to the Quranic lifestyle,” continued Ayatollah Ramazani.

“Certainly, there has never been an opportunity to propagate Islam in the international arena like today. The most detailed scientific discussions about Islam are now taking place at major universities around the world, including Harvard, Cambridge, and the Sorbonne. I have been in contact with the Sorbonne University for about 11 years and this relationship still continues. The most detailed Islamic issues, including attention to seminary schools, in Qom, Najaf, Karbala, Mashhad, and Samarra are taking place there,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“We are now facing the fact of the spread of fake spirituality in the West. Today, there are more than 4,000 fact spiritualities and newfound mysticism such as Osho. Therefore, we must create a discourse for spirituality and rationality based on the Book (Quran) and traditions (of the Prophet). We are now facing changes and distortions in concepts such as justice, spirituality, rationality, and resistance. So, we must strive to express the Islamic view in these areas. However, it seems that the 21st century will be a century of spirituality,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the spread of fake spiritualities in the world.

“Iraq can be one of the spiritual centers in the world. Because there are six great Imams buried in this country, each of whom can be a model for human society. Of course, the Infallible Imams (a.s.) are not just for the Shiite audience, and I believe that they can be role models for the Shiites, Muslims, followers of other religions, and (even) for the whole of human society,” he continued.

The strategy that we emphasize in the new era in the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly is based on rationality, spirituality, justice, and resistance, and all these concepts should be explained based on the school of the AhlulBayt (a.s.). The infallible Imams (a.s.) themselves demand the same from us. This statement of Imam Sadeq (a.s.) makes us ponder that he said, “We want our followers to be wise, understanding, knowledgeable, with forbearance, patience, loyalty, and tolerance.” This hadith indicates that human society should move towards a deep understanding, rationality, and moral values such as patience, forbearance, fidelity, and tolerance,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“We must think, be careful and plan for the youth, women, and lifestyle in Islamic civilization. In a letter to the youth of the West, the Supreme Leader of the Revolution also pointed out very precise and profound points. Attention to women is also essential. Half of the world’s population is made up of women, and they can make a difference in the religious, cultural, and social spheres. They have a significant capacity. In my opinion, the religion of Islam and the Holy Prophet (p.b.u.h) are among the strong defenders of women’s rights,” said Ayatollah Ramazani.

“There are opportunities for us that provide the ground for the realization of a great Islamic civilization. Accordingly, the study of the Arbaeen is very important. Arbaeen has a great potential for the realization of true spirituality. The most important spiritual conference in the Islamic world is Hajj, but Arbaeen is the largest spiritual conference of Muslims in the world,” he specified, considering it necessary to pay attention to the discussion of lifestyle in Islamic civilization.

“Dr. Adel Abdul Mahdi pointed out the important point that there is an interaction between rationality and resistance. I want to say that resistance is the rule of rationality, and even higher, resistance is the same as rationality,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Today, there are two groups of intellectuals and extremists among Muslims, and both groups hit Islam like two scissors. One group advocates compassionate Islam, and some enlightened thinkers seek absolute peace even with enemies. While there is no absolute peace in Islam and peace must be based on justice. Unfortunately, another group is committing terror and violence, and it has caused us to face not only Islamophobia but also anti-Islamism today,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the need to avoid extremism.

“We believe that the Prophet Muhammad (p.b.u.h) was sent by God as a prophet to spread mercy in the world. Resistance to tyranny and arrogance is not only divine mercy, but also it is divine mercy itself. Many verses of the Holy Quran are about resistance. There are 400 Quranic verses related to war, jihad, and resistance. As for Khums, according to some, there is one verse and according to others, there are 4 to 5 verses. There are less than 100 verses in the Quran about prayer, the pillar of Islam,” he continued.

“Today, thanks to the blood of Martyr Soleimani, the resistance movement has become an international movement, and the effects of this martyr’s blood are definitely greater than his life. Coordination between Iran and Iraq is very valuable in terms of resistance. The holy blood of Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandes were mixed, and this is a metaphor for the inseparable unity of the Iranian and Iraqi nations. In this regard, today we have a very important responsibility and mission,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Many people did not believe that in the age of liberalism, Islam could play a role in the social sphere. But Imam Khomeini made it clear to us that Islam in the political arena can govern society, and with his great movement (the Islamic Revolution of Iran), the social rules of Islam were revived. Now the greatest power to oppose the West and Westernism is Islam, which has developed quantitatively and qualitatively in the world, and the Supreme Leader of the Revolution, as a religious reformer, the Imam of Muslims and a source of emulation, is influential in this regard,” he mentioned.

Iran-Iraq bilateral cooperation developing: Adel Abdul Mahdi

Following the meeting, expressing his satisfaction with the meeting with Ayatollah Ramazani, Adel Abdul Mahdi said, “It is a great honor for me to meet the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly. This is an important meeting to learn about the scientific position of Ayatollah Ramazani. I participated in the expansion of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in Europe, including in France, and the establishment of this Assembly was very important.”

“These days are the anniversary of the demise of Imam Khomeini. He saved not only the Iranian nation, but the Islamic world, and the whole world. He changed the world from east to west,” he continued.

“Without rationality, one cannot have spirituality. In the current state of the world, if we have no resistance, we will not be able to change the situation. Rationality and resistance are both the same. But each is a different tool for achieving a single goal,” stated the former Iraqi Prime Minister, considering the four strategies of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly as interrelated.

“All those who were appointed as the Secretary-General of this assembly were great scholars and suitable personalities for this position. This shows that Imam Khamenei has a good choice,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi, referring to the Supreme Leader’s appropriate appointment for the post of Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“After all the efforts to normalize relations between the Arab countries and Israel, in the two-week war between Israel and Gaza, everything changed, and the Islamic nations stood up. Sometimes the enemy defeats us with the power he has, but we can make up for that defeat with victory. Because we have the right, justice, and the Infallible Imams (a.s.). Saddam’s regime ruled Iraq for 35 years and instilled fear in the people and imprisoned its opponents. But we, who were a small population, were able to win and finally, that tyranny was eliminated,” added the former Iraqi Prime Minister.

“Today, millions of people participate in the Arbaeen pilgrimage. This pilgrimage is not only related to Iraq but also the Islamic world and the whole world. Arbaeen pilgrimage lasts about 40 days and the number of participants in this ceremony is more than the number of pilgrims in Hajj. This happens only with the power of faith. Power is not about having government and property. Rather, our strength is based on faith. Of course, there are problems. The enemy is not weak and seeks to hit us. After the martyrdom of Martyr Soleimani, thousands of Mujahideen have taken the path of this martyr. It can even be said that now, “Martyr Soleimani” is stronger than “General Soleimani” alive,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi, referring to the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

“In favor of Muslims and Shiites, Iran sacrificed many of its interests, and this is obvious. Some accuse Iran of being sectarian, while Iran supports the Palestinian people who are Sunnis, and because of this support, it has suffered a lot of pressure and sanctions. One of the factors of our victory is the tyranny of the enemies. They cannot convince people of their actions. Examining Israeli newspapers, I noticed that there are many internal conflicts between the Zionists. They are suffering from extremism within themselves. We see signs of victory, and there are many signs of moving forward,” he continued.

“Due to Iran’s toughness, the Palestinians’ view has changed, and now, Hamas in the middle of Gaza praises the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Supreme Leader,” added the former Iraqi Prime Minister.

“Some in Iraq, and some in Iran, oppose the relationship between the two countries. These animosities have existed since the colonial period, and are disappearing. In these matters, one should not be superficial. There is solidarity between the nations of Iran and Iraq, and the blood of the martyrs of these two countries is mixed. Bilateral cooperation between Iran and Iraq continues and will develop,” continued the member of the General Assembly of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“In interacting with others, martyr Soleimani paid attention to detail and was well aware of the situation around him. He worked to unite the ranks and bring others closer together. Without Martyr Soleimani, the battle with ISIL could not have been won. He personally went on reconnaissance operations of dangerous areas. He was the last person to leave before the fall of Tal Afar. Martyr Soleimani was on the front lines in the battles and did not accept being behind the line, and we saw this in the battles in Iraq and Syria. Martyr Soleimani was a politician, a great diplomat, and a prominent warrior. His stability in battles shattered the equations of the enemy. Martyr Soleimani was a great mujahid, but he was extremely humble,” stated Adel Abdul Mahdi considering Martyr Soleimani a strategic figure.
