The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly stated, “Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was fully aware that the answer to a thought should be given with a thought and not with violence. Therefore, the thought, pen, and expression of the late Imam, which all were influenced by pure Islamic ideas, introduced a new way to all libertarians.”
At the conference “The position of the discourse of opposing violence and making peace in the jurisprudential principles of Imam Khomeini”, Hojat al-Islam Sayed Abolhassan Navab, Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, and President of the University of Religions and Denominations, said, “Sometimes, some young people who were not born during Imam Khomeini’s lifetime, under the influence of enemy propaganda, think that the first generation of the Islamic Revolution introduces Imam Khomeini according to their personal views, not as he really was.”
“To know Imam Khomeini, one must study his works, and scientific and practical life of that great man of history; How the leader of the greatest revolution of the last century, initiated his revolution? For the victory of the revolution, did he use assassination and intimidation, or rather he used thought?” added the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
“In Iran, no one was as opposed to the Shah as Imam Khomeini. However, the late Imam wanted to expel the Shah from the country by awareness and knowledge of the masses, not by using weapons and assassination. Therefore, Imam Khomeini’s weapon in the confrontation against the Shah’s regime was his enlightening speeches and declarations, by which he used to bring the people to the stage, and to start a revolution based on faith in God and the awareness of the masses. So much so that today it is still the focus of the world libertarians,” he added.
“In an interview, a journalist asked Imam Khomeini, “Where are your soldiers, given the fact that every revolution needs weapons and soldiers?” With heartfelt faith and calmness Imam Khomeini replied, “My soldiers are in the cradles!” In that interview, few understood the main purpose of Imam Khomeini. But he was sure in his heart that by believing in God and illuminating the people, the children of Iran could revolt against oppression and tyranny,” Nawab continued.
“From the beginning of the revolutionary struggle in 1963 until the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979, Imam Khomeini (r.a.) neither issued a fatwa for assassination nor approved an assassination plan. Some anti-regime fighters came to the Imam to get approval for the assassination of Hassan Ali Mansour (Shah’s Prime Minister). But Imam Khomeini (r.a.) disappointed them, and neither issued Mansour’s assassination order, nor approved the assassination,” said the president of the University of Religions and Denominations, pointing out that Imam Khomeini’s Islamic Revolution was based on thought, not violence.
“Imam Khomeini (r.a.) was fully aware that the answer to a thought should be given with a thought and not with violence. Therefore, the thought, pen, and expression of the late Imam, which all were influenced by pure Islamic ideas, introduced a new way to all libertarians,” stated the Secretary of the Supreme Council of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
