Imam Sadeq (a.s.) created knowledge movement to deepen religion: Ayatollah Ramazani

On the occasion of the martyrdom of Imam Ja’far Sadeq (a.s.), Ayatollah Reza Ramazani Gilani stated, “The study of the life, intellectual, moral, ideological and knowledge system of the Infallible Imams (a.s.) is of great importance.”

“In a religious society, religious knowledge must be deepened, and there must be no superficial view of religion,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, pointing out that the great knowledge movement was one of the important features of the life of Imam Sadeq (a.s.).

“On the other hand, some (only) pay attention to the inside of religion and have neglected its appearance,” he clarified, stating that some only pay attention to the appearance of religion and neglected the essence of religion.

“A one-dimensional view of religion is incorrect, and it is important to pay attention to the social, cultural, political, etc. aspects of religion,” emphasized Ayatollah Ramazani, pointing out that human beings should pay attention to the individual and social aspects of religion at the same time.

“Islam is a comprehensive religion and has paid attention to various aspects and dimensions of human life,” pointed out the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts.

“Imam Sadeq (a.s.) created a knowledge movement to deepen religion, and for society to pay attention to religious knowledge meticulously,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, pointing out that religion is not a cliché, but a process that if one studies it meticulously, one will achieve dignity and perfection.

“The religion of Islam shows the lifestyle of a perfectionist man,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, pointing out that understanding religion shows the right path, destination, and direction of life for human beings.

“According to Sheikh Mofid, 4,000 people attended Imam Sadeq’s class and narrated hadith from him,” emphasized the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, referring to the prominent personalities who were trained in the presence of Imam Sadeq (a.s.).

“Apart from Shiite scholars, Sunni imams, including Abu Hanifa and Malik ibn Anas, were also students of Imam Sadeq (a.s.),” he stated.

Referring to the book Mosnad of Imam Sadeq (a.s.), by the great scholar, late Atarodi, Ayatollah Ramazani emphasized, “This religious scholar has quoted 38,000 hadiths in 21 volumes from Imam Sadeq (a.s.).”

“Although these resources are available, we must always be in the presence of Imam (a.s.),” emphasized the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Leadership Experts, mentioning the existence and availability of books of hadith of the infallible Imams (a.s.) as rich and comprehensive sources.

“This student of Jafari school stated eight points that he learned from Imam Sadeq, and was praised by the Imam,” he said, referring to the perception of one of Imam Sadeq’s students from the lessons of this Imam.

“Whatever friendship a person makes in the world, he must finally leave it at the time of death. It is the only good deed that does not separate from man, and will save him,” emphasized Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the first point that this student learned from Imam Sadeq (a.s.) about good deeds.

“Good deeds, righteous deeds, and faith, in addition to making a person popular among the people of the world, will also be a companion of man on the Day of Judgment,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“There are some people who are proud of their parents, children, and wealth. But these are not real honors. Rather, piety and glorification in the sight of God are the most important honors,” he said, referring to the honor of being pious as the second point that Imam Sadeq’s student had learned from him.

“Increasing dignity depends on piety, and piety prevents man from sinning,” noted Ayatollah Ramazani, saying that the real value of human beings is dignity.

“Some people are occupied with “amusement and playing”, while according to the Quran, people go to heaven who are afraid of God’s judgment, that is, they are afraid of inappropriate behavior, speech and actions,” emphasized the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, referring to the third lesson learned by a student of the school of Imam Sadeq (a.s.).

“Man must obey God’s commands. One who obeys God and His Messenger will be saved, and one who disobeys God and His Messenger will be harmed and will lose his capital (that is his life),” he stated.

“Everyone who gets something tries to keep it and avoid wasting it. But if someone gives alms in the way of God, God will give him many times what he has given alms, and the almsgiving will be a reserve for the hereafter for man,” Ayatollah Ramazani said, considering almsgiving in the way of God, as the fourth lesson learned by the student of Imam Sadeq (a.s.).

“The poor are sent by God, and if we cannot help them, the reward of almsgiving will be given to others. Man should give alms to others from what God provides for him, and at the same time he should not reproach the one who receives alms,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“Unfortunately, people are jealous of the blessings that God gives to others and harm their souls and bodies. Man should not be happy with the material blessings that God has given him. At the same time, he should not be saddened if the material blessings are taken from him,” he said, considering “not being jealous, and not regretting the resources of other people’s lives,” as the fifth point that Imam Sadeq’s student has learned.

Some people are at enmity with each other. While according to God, “Satan is the only enemy of man”, and people should not resent their fellow human beings. Of course, this does not include the enemies of Islam,” he noted, pointing out that avoiding enmity between human beings, and considering Satan as an enemy, is the sixth lesson learned by Imam Sadeq’s student.

“People work hard to achieve material goals and spend all their time reaching the material world. While the Creation is for worship, knowledge, and servitude,” said the representative of the people of Gilan in the Assembly of Experts, considering the attention to worship, servitude, and knowledge as the seventh point of what the student of Imam Sadeq (a.s.) learned.

“A believer does not devote all his efforts to achieve worldly goals but strives for his eternal life (in the Hereafter). Human dignity is striving for salvation,” he added.

“People boast their physical strength, health, and wealth, while according to the Quran, God is sufficient for one who trusts in God,” stated Ayatollah Ramazani, referring to the point that “God is sufficient for human beings” as the last lesson which the Imam Sadeq’s student learned.

“Boasting of power, beauty, and wealth is not right, but one should always consider trust, recourse, and prudence as important matters at all times,” added the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

Stating that the eight issues and lessons learned by Imam Sadeq’s student are very important in human life, Ayatollah Ramazani pointed out, “Imam Sadeq said in this regard, “By God, the Torah, the Gospel, the Zabur and the Quran are rooted in these eight subjects.” Therefore, if man observes these teachings, he will succeed in the divine tests.”

“If a person becomes accustomed to the luminous words of the AhlulBayt (a.s.), he will learn the way of life and will never be undecided in doing anything,” said Ayatollah Ramazani, emphasizing the necessity to learn from the manners and recommendations of the AhlulBayt (a.s.).

Divine revelation seeks to guide human beings to know their destination and to follow the path with the grace of divine will and power.
