Interactions of AhlulBayt (a.s.) Assembly of India needs to be extensive: Ayatollah Ramazani

The Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly said, “The unity of the Muslims of India is a key issue in the country. The enemy seeks to divide the Muslims. Therefore, we must prevent the discord between Shiites and Sunnis.”

On Thursday morning, June 9, 2022, Ayatollah Ramazani, Secretary-General of the Ahl al-Bayt (a.s.) World Assembly, met with members of the office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India in the meeting hall of the Qom Assembly.

In this meeting, while welcoming the guests, Ayatollah Reza Ramazani stated, “India is an important and vast country. There are different cultures and schools of religion and thought in the country, and this is a great potential.”

“Appropriate measures have been taken so far for the peaceful coexistence of religions in India. India has experienced peaceful coexistence, and therefore can be a model for other countries in this regard,” he continued.

“India has a population of more than 200 million Muslims, and more than 40 million Shiites. Therefore, the country has a significant capacity,” said the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly on the capacity of Muslim population of India.

“The enemy seeks to divide the Muslims. Therefore, we must prevent the discord between Shiites and Sunnis,” he said, stressing that the unity of the Muslims of India is a key issue in the country.

“Many innocent Muslims have lost their lives in various wars,” Ayatollah Ramazani continued, “The movie “The Lady of Heaven” has been produced to create discord among Shiite and Sunni Muslims. The goal of the enemies of Islam is to highlight differences. This film was analyzed and criticized by the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly, which was welcomed by many dignitaries. The Supreme Leader of the Revolution emphasizes the preservation of the unity of the Islamic Ummah. We must be vigilant against seditions.”

“We should appreciate the respect of Hindus for the AhlulBayt (a.s.) and their participation in Muharram mourning ceremonies,” he continued, emphasizing the need for the members of the office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India to communicate with influential Sunnis and Hindus who love the AhlulBayt (a.s.).

“The office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India should have extensive interactions with various scholars, groups, and institutions of the country. Practical activity has its difficulties and problems. However, our task is to make the best use of opportunities. We also need more meticulously planning and reflection on our future activities,” stressed the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.

“International Quds Day, and training programs must be held vigorously,” he continued, “AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly will increase its support for the the Local Assembly of AhlulBayt (a.s.) followers of India. Ashura and Ghadir conferences should be held more prominent.”

“Local Assemblies are not rivals, rather, they must play the role of a father in their own countries, and the native members of each country must run local Assemblies,” Ayatollah Ramazani continued.

In the end, considering the International University of AhlulBayt (a.s.) as one of the important capacities of the Assembly, he stressed the need of the cooperation and interaction of the Local Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India with the university.

At the beginning of the meeting, members of Local Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India presented a report to the Secretary-General of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly on their activities.

According to the report, among the activities of the Local Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India were holding educational classes for young people in different areas, holding on the occasion of the birth of Imam Sajjad (a.s.) and the martyrdom of Imam Ali (a.s.), publishing books on various topics, Executive Board meeting every three months, holding a meeting for general members, holding Ashura and Ghadir conferences, holding Quds Day march, holding programs on the anniversary of the Demolition of al-Baqi Cemetery, holding Quran classes in the holy month of Ramadan and other months, holding competitions for girls on the occasion of the birth of Lady Zahra (a.s.), holding a march and other programs on the anniversary of the martyrdom of Haj Qasem Soleimani.

Also, members of Local Office of the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly in India displayed some of their published works for the Secretary-General, and called for further support, cooperation, and interaction with the AhlulBayt (a.s.) World Assembly.
